Boris Johnson is seen as the favourite to become the next prime minister, according to a poll published by Sky News on Wednesday.
The former foreign secretary is leading the Tory leadership contest with 74 MP votes while other polls published by ComRes and the Daily Telegraph suggest that Johnson could head the election as a new Conservative Party leader with a majority of 140 votes.
Brexit Secretary Steve Barclay gave his support for the former foreign secretary, adding to the list of senior Conservatives that have backed Johnson for the prime ministerial bid.
Meanwhile, UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt is currently holding the second position in the poll with 32 Tory votes while Environment Secretary and a candidate for the next prime minister Michael Gove has been backed by 30. Meanwhile, Former Brexit secretary Dominic Raab and Home Secretary Sajid Javid have 22 and 19 votes respectively.
